St. Patrick Catholic Church had fallen on hard times and needed extensive remediation work as well as renovation, requiring complete exterior and interior restoration. The objective was to restore as many of the original architectural elements as possible while maintaining the floor plan requirements of a modern Roman Catholic worship space. The original terrazzo floors, Byrne copper sconces and the ceiling were restored to the original Byrne design. This fine example of Byrne’s work once again has claimed its position in the Racine community as one of the most prestigious landmarks in the city.
